Kerry grew up in Bradford, Ohio with his siblings, Kathy, Kelly, and Kevin and his parents, Alan and Carolyn Murphy. He graduated high school in 1990 and a year later began his career at RK HydroVac where he currently works as the sales manager for the Piqua office. His father passed away in July of 1993 and his mother, Carolyn, remarried Roger Thobe of Maria Stein in 2000. He quickly became a special part of the Murphy family, especially in the eyes of his grandchildren. Kerry enjoys going boating at Lake Cumberland, fishing in the ponds on our property, taking golf cart rides with the girls, coaching Delaney’s teams and spending time with friends and family.
Sarah lived in Pleasant Hill, Ohio with her brothers John and Dan and her parents John and Susan Davis. She graduated from Newton in 1995 and Ohio University in 1999. After living in San Diego and Cleveland and working as a member of Americorps and a social worker, Sarah went back to school to get her teaching licensure and masters in education and eventually moved back to Pleasant Hill after meeting Kerry. Sarah now teaches Spanish at Arcanum High School and in her free time she enjoys exercising, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Marissa graduated from Bradford High School and Upper Valley Career Center in May of 2015. She works as a nurse’s aide and is continuing her studies at Edison Community College in the nursing program. Marissa is a very caring and hard-working young woman who is very close with her extended family and her friends. She enjoys working out, hanging out with friends, and spending time with her mom, Angie, her dad, Sarah, Delaney, and her fiancée, Troy.
Delaney is eight and is in third grade at Covington Elementary. She has lots of energy and is very creative. She has tried a little of everything as far as sports and is trying to figure out what she likes best; softball, basketball, soccer, or tumbling. Delaney likes playing on the Wii, swimming, reading, cooking, giving make-overs, and performing whatever song or dance inspires her at the moment. She also loves playing with her friends and big sissy and giving Marissa’s friends make-overs and of course spending time with her family. Delaney isn’t quite sure of her future career, but has mentioned everything from teacher to vet to farmer. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
